According to Ayurveda, a person is made up of 3 components- the body (physical- sthula sharir), the mind (psychological- sukshma sharir), and the soul (spiritual- Karana sharir). It is essential to maintain a mind-body-soul balance for one’s well being. Hence, Ayurveda suggests following the below practices for harmony between the body, mind, and soul. 

One must consume a wide range of foods that inculcates all the 6 tastes of the human tongue, i.e., sweet, salty, bitter, sour, spicy, and astringent. By doing this you make sure that the food you consume has all the essential nutrients for the body’s functioning and health, thus harmonizing the connection between the mind-body-soul of an individual. 

Dincharya:

Dincharya is a daily regime, prescribed by Ayurveda, that is synchronized with the cycle of the sun during the day. Waking up before sunrise, scraping your tongue, washing your face, and sipping warm water daily is a part of the daily routine. Following this routine helps to cleanse us from within, relaxes our minds, and sharpens our cognitive abilities, thus creating a balance between the body, soul, and mind.

Yoga & Pranayama:

Pranayam is a few breathing exercises that help to cleanse the respiratory and lymphatic systems in the body. It maintains the life force or prana and clears the channels of energy or nadis in the body by employing controlled breathing techniques. You can also add yoga to your schedule which helps in increased flexibility and strength to the body. 

Meditation:

Meditation focuses on building one’s spiritual well being. It creates awareness of your intangible being living within you and makes you experience divine bliss or ananda. It helps to improve your memory and concentration skills as well. 

Switch to a Natural Lifestyle:

Instead of spending time indoors, try and spend time with nature. Be amongst the elements of nature like the sky, earth, fire, air, and water. You can spend time observing them gain harmony and holistic well being. 

Cultivate self-awareness and be non-judgemental:
